My Home-Made Pontoon Boat
(Click each image for larger view)

'Dock Billets' - used for floating docks. Each billet can support 825#

To keep the final weight down, I chose vinyl downspouts to connect the two pontoons.

A plywood deck creates a walking surface and spreads the load.

Quick to assemble and disassemble.

Plenty of room for extras like electric motor batteries and safety equipment.

A primary objective was 'no trailer'. Everything fits neatly in my van.

A local boat ramp used for my first trial run.

I set a camera on a tripod and used a remote control to take this next set of pictures.

Note the water line. Bow out of water, stern in about an inch.

Paddling was difficult. No lateral stability.

But I loved every minute of it.

But time to go back and make some improvements. Like mount the seat.
