Pillbox at Cabrillo National Monument

During World War II, Point Loma was a military defense post. Several 'Pillboxes' still remain from that era. The gun ports are boarded up but you can walk right up and touch the crude concrete surface.

Because the footpath was so close, I had to use my new wideangle converter. The sun was behind me so the exposer was a piece of cake.

The second photo shows the more modern bathroom facilities on the hill just below the upper lighthouse.
